Sun of Tsurdya Forest
My 3rd piece of 6 in my Path series, Sun of Tsurdya Forest shows a pine forest with a use of shadows coming in from the right angled down to the left to really open up the contrast in the bottom half of the drawing. In the mid section long narrow trees barrel up to the sky and bend in giving an ominous almost overbearing tone. From here the sun peaks through the needles, bending rays of lights giving a focus point to the drawing. Rounding out the top is the canopy of branches intricately drawn with composition always in mind.
The scene is from yet another Nepa park outside of the Wilkes-Barre area. Pines are always really interesting to walk through and I have been really excited to draw a pine landscape as I feel it fits the long narrow vertical format and fits into my hiking theme perfectly.
