My Florida Trip

I had a week vacation last week. I drove to Florida with my family where we took 3 days to go down stopping in Richmond, VA, Savannah, GA and of course South of the Border! Then finally ending my drive in Venice, FL.

Me at South of the Border with the big Ape!

I did not do any art on this trip as we had a full schedule of beach laziness, canoeing, hiking and eating to do. I took a few good hikes thru some of the great wetland and coastal scrub areas where I took pictures of possible future Fantastical Roots subject matter. Here are a few of them:

Fantastical Roots

The bird was nice and posed for me.

You can’t really tell from the image, but the small bump sticking out at the top of the stump is a lizard. This one reminds me of the monster from the sci-fi movie Krull.

I took this photo on a canoe trip down the Myakka River. Unfortunately, my phone camera caught the sun reflection here, but I can still use this one. The photos are only for my reference. Half the time when I am working on a piece I don’t even look at the photo and just draw my own vision when I feel like I need to create something more compositionally friendly.

Overall, it was a nice trip, but it is good to be back and working on projects again.

Some new updates on my shows. I am batting a 1000 on show acceptance so far. I have my work currently still hanging at the Art Association of Harrisburg - 21 N Front St, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
